Ex-US Military Pilot Arrested In Australia For China Work History

Acting on Washington’s request, Australian Federal Police have arrested a former US military pilot who had previously worked in China last Friday, and now faces extradition to the States.

According to company records, after Daniel Edmund Duggan spent a decade in the US Air Force he set up Top Gun Tasmania to fly tourists in fighter jet joyrides before moving to Beijing and setting up Qingdao-based AVIBIZ aviation consultancy company in 2017.

Although his lawyer refused to comment ahead of November’s bail hearing, aviation sources told Reuters his arrest was due to his work in China. His arrest came the same week dozens of British former military pilots were threatened with prosecution by Westminster if they didn’t stop working in China.
