Israeli police shoot Palestinian teenager after suspected knife attack

Israeli police shot a Palestinian teenager at a football pitch in East Jerusalem on Saturday. Israeli authorities say the teen was suspected of carrying out a stabbing attack in Jerusalem.

According to Israeli police, the Palestinian teenager left an Israeli pedestrian seriously wounded in a knife attack before fleeing into an East Jerusalem neighbourhood.

The suspect is alleged to have turned towards officers with an ‘object’ in his hand before they opened fire. He was left seriously wounded. Medics took him to a hospital in Jerusalem.
